My face and Bourjois Happy Light Foundation met recently… and they have become BFFs. Yes, I do require a layer of fake tan before I can wear the lightest shade in the range, but hey, when a foundation works this well with your skin it is worth a tanning session.
I should do a review on this new fav (it really does warrant its own post!), but for now, here is a little run down of what products I have used to achieve this natural look with a little added somethin’ somethin’ – winged eyeshadow.
No guesses here, for the base I have used the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation in shade 51 followed by the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in Light to disguise my under eye circles. To set the foundation and concealer in place I have used the Clinique Blended Face Powder in Transparency 03. I have added a dash of bronze to my temples, cheekbones and jawline using the Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 3 and the pop of colour on my cheeks is thanks to a light dusting of The Balm Hot Mama Blush. To highlight I have reached for my well-loved Bobbi Brown Rose Shimmer Brick, and the ELF Studio Eyebrow Kit in Ash has my eyebrows covered.
Now for the eyes… I whipped out my trusted Naked 1 Palette and slightly defined the crease with the shade Naked on a fluffy blending brush. Dipping a winged eyeliner brush in the shade Hustle, I have traced the colour over my top lash line then continued this out to make a small wing. Nothing fancy here ladies and gents, but I do enjoy the eye lengthening effect this has. To finish off the eyes I have coated my top lashes in Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara in black.
MAC Peach Blossom is what’s happening on my lips, layered with a little Vaseline for a slightly more glossy look. Ohhh and my latest nail colour love is the Revlon Colorstay Longwear Enamel in 120 Red Carpet which is oh so matchy, matchy with my top!
So there you have it, today’s makeup in a post. I do enjoy this subtle take on the traditional winged eyeliner and I would love to know, have you tried the winged eyeshadow?
